JRI Singapore currently supports the overall IT functions of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in Asia Pacific Region.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments in the APAC region to gather, document, and translate business requirements into user stories, Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and use cases.
  • Support system rollout activities at branch level, coordinating with business users and IT teams.
  • Understand and document SWIFT routing rules and workflows to support system configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in system integration and mapping exercises to ensure data flows and interfaces between Trade Finance, SWIFT, and core banking systems function correctly.
  • Support and coordinate SIT and UAT activities, including test scenario preparation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and met.
  • Assist in preparing training materials and user documentation related to system changes.
  • Monitor and support ongoing operational issues related to Trade Finance and SWIFT systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Trade Finance products, SWIFT standards, and core banking integration practices.
  • Provide timely and clear communication on project status and issues to internal teams.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in system rollout at banking branches or similar environments.
  • Understanding of SWIFT messaging, routing rules, and related trade finance processes.
  • Knowledge of system integration concepts and data mapping.
  • Experience supporting SIT and UAT testing phases.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with good documentation skills.
  • Experience or exposure to core banking system T24 integration.
  • Familiarity with trade finance products such as Letters of Credit (LC), Guarantees, Collections.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or data querying tools.
  • Understanding of trade finance regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum project methodologies.
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving banking technology environment.
