JRI Singapore currently supports the overall IT functions of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in Asia Pacific Region.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, Mentor and manage a team of Project Managers within the respective applications, ensuring effective project execution and professional development of the team members.
  • Oversee respective team's IT budget management
  • Collaborate with IT partners to identify and support technology-driven innovation initiatives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to facilitate MVP, including deployment, testing, and validation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and engaging vendors to assess the suitability of new solutions.
  • Assist IT leadership in developing annual work and resource plans
  • Continually manage stakeholders expectations through governance processes
  • Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication
  • Provide status reporting to JRIS management regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies and communicating across leadership and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
  • Ensure the program is aligned to and supports strategic objectives
  • Understand interdependencies between technology and business needs
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent, at least 15+ years of experience preferably with exposure in Banking and Finance industry and Technology environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in system development work with prior experience in functional, technical specifications and system development
  • Strong understanding and experience in software development cycle (Waterfall or Agile best practices)
  • Highly effective communicating with non-technical stakeholders, proficient communicating with technical stakeholders
  • Good problem solving, analytical, synthesis, system thinking and solutioning skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and vendor project management skills
  • Experience in vendor product management will be an added advantage
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • A confident and self aware leader with a high degree of independence with analytical/ problem solving ability
  • Able to clearly articulate complex matters and provide recommendations on best course of action to be taken
  • Full end to end project management in a lead role
  • Executive level communication skills with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
  • Willing to face with unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Ability to work both unsupervised and in a team orientated environment, under pressure and manage deadlines
