JRI Singapore currently supports the overall IT functions of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in Asia Pacific Region.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of a Cash Management system project. This includes project planning, scoping, staffing, costing, scheduling, quality, communication, and execution from concept through final implementation.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of Internet Banking Cash Management system projects, ensuring delivery within time, budget, and specifications.
- Support the management decision process through the creation of project charters, scope documents, risk assessments, budgets and IT Value (ROI, IRR) discussions. Prioritize and coordinateto get approvals for projects and drive project initiation.
- Estimate the impact of new or modified services in terms of cost, capacity, contingency, infrastructure, and resources.
- Conduct feasibility studies and confirm resulting business unit decisions.
- Consult with senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment of projects with multiple business units’ strategy and objectives.
- Risk Management: Identify and anticipate risks and issues. Facilitate resolution, mitigation, and appropriate escalation. Lead or independently assess inter-project dependencies and gauge the financial impact and risk of the project.
- Risk Management: Enable the processes, tools, and techniques to identify, analyze, track, manage, and resolve project risks that impact the project's ability to meet project goals and objectives, as Zwell as risks pertaining to project schedules, costs, and quality criteria.
- Collaborate to ensure security guidelines compliance and secure development practices are implemented in projects.
- Disaster & Project recovery: Develop, implement and administer standards and procedures for Project recovery planning, security planning and documentation.
- Lead efforts around work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of business perspective work plans to determine the required tasks and resources (process, functional, etc.) for complex projects spanning multiple business units.
- Provide appropriate performance feedback for project team members.
- Coach and mentor project team members on best practices, including solution delivery and IT value.
- Provide input around the hiring, supervising, training and promotion of candidates as needed.
- Drive collaboration within the project teams and other stakeholders, vendors, portfolio managers in coordinating all aspects of a large, complex project involving multiple IT disciplines. Also ensure, alignment and coordination with other on-going but interrelated efforts.
- Manage the scope change process and issue identification/resolution with all stakeholders.
- Monitor and communicate status to senior leadership. Communicate and incorporate feedback from customers.
- Craft and implement communication plans requiring cultural change within the organization.
- Quality Management: Define and manage the activities related to determining the project specific quality policies, objectives, and responsibilities needed for a project to satisfy its goals and objectives. Also enable the processes, tools, and techniques used to perform quality planning, quality assurance, and quality control/compliance activities.
- Ensure Process, standards, tools and organization, project & delivery guidelines are implemented all through the project lifecycle.
- Distributed Project Management and Cross-cultural Teaming: Develop project team structure, and develop communications and working processes which promote effective integrated teaming.
Job Requirements
- Banking System: Experience in Internet Banking, Cash Management, payment, transaction banking system or similar systems and these system modernization preferred.
- Recommended years of experience: 20 years in IT project management in financial and/or banking.
- Project Management expertise: Proven track record in managing end-to-end IT projects (From requirement gathering to system deployment. Partial engagement is fine as well.) Over 50M SGD investment, cross regional program, project lead experience is preferable.
- Experience in system development work with prior experience in functional, technical specifications and system development.
- Proficiency in JIRA, MS Project, Powerpoint, Excel, Visio.
- Strong understanding and experience in software development cycle (Waterfall or Agile best practices).
- Highly effective communicating with non-technical stakeholders, proficient communicating with technical stakeholders.
- Good problem solving, analytical, synthesis, system thinking and solutioning skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and vendor project management skills.
- Experience in vendor product management will be an added advantage.
- A confident and self aware leader with a high degree of independence with analytical/ problem solving ability.
- Able to clearly articulate complex matters and provide recommendations on best course of action to be taken.
- Full end to end project management in a lead role.
- Executive level communication skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
- Ability to work both unsupervised and in a team orientated environment, under pressure and manage deadline.
