As a system integrator, JRI offers services in IT strategy planning, implementation and outsourcing to a broad range of industries and activities. JRI Singapore currently supports the overall IT functions of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in the Asia Pacific region.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive and responsible for the conceptualization of the technical solution architecture based on project’s requirements and IT strategies. Participate in vendor/product/technology evaluation and selection for the solution proposal.  
  • Work with enterprise architects, systems SMEs and product vendors to ensure proposed solution architecture / approach is in line with enterprise IT strategy, standards and guidelines while meeting the project objectives. Act as a bridge between the enterprise architects and the project’s technical delivery team.
  • Provide technical leadership in evaluating new technologies, frameworks and existing platform capabilities to enhance proposed solution.
  • Mentor development teams/ technical leads in adhering to architecture principles, design patterns.
  • Create and update/review the technical documentation for the proposed solution architecture.
  • Communicate effectively with cross functional stakeholders to drive the solution architecture review process and approval.
  • Own and drive the technical solution discussion with relevant systems SMEs, other domain architects and product vendors to derive the overall solution architecture design​.
  • Validate with the business analyst /functional architect to confirm the proposed solution design meets the functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Articulate and get buy-in for the technical solution from IT management and the enterprise technology/architecture board.
  • Undertake research and innovation to keep up to date with industry and technology trends.
  • Knowledge and experience with financial industry risks/compliance and regulatory requirements.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of working experience in the financial industry with minimum 7 years in solution architecture roles. Familiar with the system and project implementation lifecycle in a banking environment.
  • Experienced in conceptualizing scalable, resilient and secure technical architecture solution involving end to end integration between channels, systems, middleware, data warehouse etc. Experienced in architecting solution with integration to commercial off the shelf product and cloud solution are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in knowledge comprising enterprise application integration patterns, enterprise architecture, microservices architecture and cloud computing services. Knowledge in system and network infrastructure is an added advantage.   
  • Experience in application modernization and application/data migrations tools and strategy.
  • Broad knowledge of Banking technologies and systems including industry development and trends. Familiar with DevDecOps, CI/CD, containerization, and programming (Java and or .NET).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and development experience with Oracle and MS-SQL database.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (APIM, Function App, Logic Apps, Azure SQL DB).
  • Familiarity in container orchestration platforms like RedHat OpenShift and application monitoring tools (IBM Instana).
  • Experience in middleware technologies like IBM MQ, IWA, MFT.
  • Having implementation, functional, operational knowledge in at least one of the following domains:
    • Payments
    • Cash management (Preferred)
    • Customer touchpoints (Internet/mobile) (Preferred)
