The Data Management Office (DMO) is the central coordinating body for data-related activities across various departments, overseeing the Data Governance function and Data Analytics function to maintain a unified approach to enterprise data management and data governance.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled professional with practical experience in Data Governance & Data Analytics Operationalization.

Role Overview

The Data Management Office is seeking an "AVP - Data Governance Operationalization" to support the execution of strategic Data Governance and regulatory data initiatives. The role will focus on Data Governance (DG) Operationalization, KDE and metadata requirements, data quality controls, lineage, ownership, governance artefacts, regulatory assessments, and reporting automation initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Compliance and Technology to perform implementation activities, support governance workstreams, and contribute to the development of scalable offshore data management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Data Governance Operationalization activities across business and functional domains.
  • Perform KDE, metadata, ownership, and control requirements for identification and documentation.
  • Perform Data Quality control design, implementation, monitoring and remediation tracking.
  • Capture requirements, support development of lineage, ownership and governance artefacts aligned to standards.
  • Support RBI data initiatives, including Enterprise Data Dictionary and Data Governance Operationalization.
  • Support regulatory reporting automation initiatives through requirement gathering and implementation requirements.
  • Support governance forums, stakeholder engagement, action tracking, and follow-up activities.
  • Support offshore Data Management Office (DMO) capabilities through RACI, procedures, delivery standards, knowledge transfer, and standardization.
  • Gather DG tooling, control and regulatory reporting requirements with key DMO stakeholders.
  • Support Building Data Governance offshore capabilities including development of DG artefacts, RACI, operating procedures, knowledge transfer, documentation & process standardization

 

Qualifications (Skills & Exposure)

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management or related disciplines within banking or financial services.
  • Good understanding of Data Governance frameworks, metadata management, data lineage and data quality practices.
  • Experience supporting KDE, metadata, data controls, governance artefacts, remediation and regulatory initiatives.
  • Good understanding of RBI regulations and regulatory expectations related to Data Governance, Data Management and Regulatory Reporting requirements.
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into operational deliverables.
  • Experience working with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Compliance and Technology functions.
  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting project delivery, regulatory assessments, issue tracking and governance coordination.
  • Exposure to GCC, offshore delivery or shared-services capability development is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Collibra, Alteryx, Power BI or comparable data management and automation tools is advantageous.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s / Masters / University degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Data Management, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Data Governance, Data Management, FRM / Risk Management or Project Management is a plus.
