AVP, Learning and Development, LDA (9 months full time contract)

As part of Human Capital Management Asia Pacific (HCMAP) department, the Learning and Development Asia (LDA) unit  aims to foster an inclusive and continuous culture of self-learning and personal growth in SMBC. LDA provides learning opportunities and solutions to all employees in SMBC Asia Pacific, acts as a learning partner for business as well drives various learning and development initiatives within Asia Pacific.

AVP LDA Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports learning opportunities to foster and develop the professional competencies of employees in APAC
  • Assist in the implementation of learning and development initiatives that will accelerate SMBC’s competitive advantage
  • Facilitate (in-person and virtual) courses assigned while ensuring quality, effectiveness and relevancy to employees' needs and business' priorities
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, vendors, facilitators, and training providers to ensure seamless programme delivery
  • Support the measurement of learning impact through assessments, surveys, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Identify trends and provide recommendations to improve programme quality, learner engagement, and operational effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit documentation relating to learning activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in learning design, delivery and evaluation of solutions and programmes in a mid to large scale regional set-up, working experience in financial services industry will be highly preferred
  • Experience in supporting implementation of corporate-wide initiatives and diverse learning solutions to build sustainable and future-ready employees
  • Ability to perform analysis and identify metrics to track learning utilization and other relevant outcomes and impact
  • Experience in review of existing curriculum and initiatives to instill a self-directed learning culture
  • Possess strong analytical and project management skills to manage and execute organization-wide learning initiatives and programmes
  • Possess facilitation and communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work as a team player with a can-do attitude
  • Experience in AI, digital initiatives, coaching, employee engagement and culture change and profiling tools will be advantageous
