AVP - DC Ops and Linux admin

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team to manage SMBC’s Data Center (DC) Infrastructure (servers, appliances, and network) and day-to-day (“run the bank”) Operations. This includes managing vendors/ partners of the DC ecosystem. The candidate is also required to actively participate in Governance, Regulatory, and Compliance (GRC) activities such as DR drills, and report KPIs to management/ regulator periodically.

It is essential that the candidate understands the business, regulatory, and infosec contexts while executing her/ his technology responsibilities. The candidate must also understand and follow the “Kaizen” philosophy while running technology operations.

Key Result Areas :

• • Manage the DC Ops 24x7 (on role & off role) team.
  • Be the Single point of Contact for all DC-related complaints, queries, and requests.
  • Hardware, software, and network equipment installation, maintenance, and de-commissioning.
  • Execute changes (business, operational, and regulatory), including hardening and fixing vulnerabilities.
  • Manage incidents/ problems, identify potential issues; manage capacity.
  • Conduct regular/ periodic DR drills.
  • Keep SOPs and other operational documents up to date.
  • Maintain SLAs and KPIs in a demonstrable manner.
  • Conduct regular operational & GRC reviews with relevant vendors/ partners/ stakeholders.
  • Monitor, measure, and report operational KPIs/ metrics; report & escalate appropriately.
  • Test, evaluate and implement new technology to meet business requirements.
  • Hands on experience in installation and troubleshooting for linux system issues (RedHat)
  • Patching and Vulnerability remediation experience on linux
  • Experience on Nutanix(HCI) using Linux preferred
  • Project exp on implementing linux project 
  • Support the rollout of new application / systems.
  • Liaising with RBI / Regulatory authorities on IT Infrastructure and operation related matters as and when required.
  • Vmware, SCCM, VEEAM backup experience preferred

  •  Experience and  Qualifications :-

     

    • Overall exp – 12-14 years in IT Infra out which 6-8 years exp as Linux admin and DC Ops
    • B. Tech, MCA or MBA (IT)(Preffered)
    • Subject Matter Expert in at least one of the following areas:
      • Linux(RedHat)
      • DC operation(Colo)
      • Servers/ Storage/backup
    Infrastructure management experience in Banking industry.

  • Certifications :-

    • ITIL
    • PMP(Preferred) 
    • Technical certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Red Hat, or any other area of IT
