Is responsible for effective operation and administration of Operations Department. To supervise efficient discharge of duties and responsibilities by staff and to continue reviewing and upgrading of department’s services to customers. To assist Section Head to provide good support for the department’s activities and ensure compliance with established rules, Service Level Agreement and regulations of the Bank and regulators.
Strategic Perspective
• Assist Section Head to provide leadership, guidance, and support to the department to achieve annual objectives and deliverables.
• Assist Section Head to operationalize sustainable growth strategy of the business by formulating and implementing initiatives which supports the strategy.
• Assist Section Head to support operational strategy and ensure that the operational activities meet the organizational requirements.
People Management
• Assist Section Head to evaluate performance and guide subordinates in terms of operational processes, skills, and technical know-how in order to improve the staff productivity and to maintain consistency in operational support and delivery.
• Assist Section Head to execute human resource strategy i.e., implement succession plan, maintain low staff attrition rate, reward, and recognize high performers including maintaining a healthy and highly motivated team whilst encouraging teamwork.
Risk & Compliance
• Assist Section Head to establish proper structure in the department that promotes accountability and transparency, promote a sound compliance culture which reinforces ethical, prudent, and professional behavior.
• Assist Section Head to establish and improve on key control aspect of the operations to ensure compliance with corporate requirements and risk mitigation thus reducing fraud losses/write-off and adjustments.
• Timely reporting of potential/actual breaches to the respective departments and branches.
• Address actual or suspected breaches of regulatory requirements or internal policies in a timely and appropriate manner.
Operations & Controls
• Effectively manage and oversee the transaction processing as well as department activities and ensure that the required tasks are completed within the expected time frame and operations are carried out in accordance with operating procedures.
• To oversee end to end daily transaction processing and/or authorization as well as department activities ensuring accuracy & efficiency and in compliance to internal controls/policies to mitigate any material operational risks that may result in operational failure/fraudulent activity.
• Oversees day to day support and advice in the department for transactional activities.
• Drives the resolution of routine/day to day issues and provide support to branch with regards to customer enquiries, investigations and problem solving.
• Drives the defect and/or complaint management process.
• Timely reconciliations/issues resolution and submission of management/regulatory reporting as and when required.
• To maintain a healthy and highly motivated team whilst encouraging teamwork.
• Work closely with other respective operations team to resolve any exceptions or queries.
• Proactively share new ideas and concepts to improve operations process.
• Manages the review of operating procedures and the maintaining of processes.
• To work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Management from time to time.
• To cover the duties of staff members in the department in his/her absence.
• To support Bank activities interrupted by an emergency/crisis.
AUTHORITY
• Approval authority up to established payment limit for transactions relating to operations.
• Authorized to verify operational actions that have been performed in accordance with the designated operation procedures, by verifying the details of transaction application forms and transaction data entered into the system.
• Authorized to approve the acceptance and execution of transactions requested by a customer or the actions to be taken for processing the transactions.
Academic Qualification (Degree / Diploma etc.) / Professional Qualification / Certification
1. Basic Diploma/ Degree
2. Professional qualifications in Accounting and/ or Banking.
Working Experience (Years / Type)
1. Must have at least 7-10 years of relevant experience in Banking Operations.
2. Basic knowledge of statutory requirements and/or related rules

4. Ability to effectively prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines and work objectives
