Job Responsibilities & Requirements
As the Global Markets and Treasury Internal Auditor, you will primarily involved in the Global Markets and Treasury audits of SMBC India Division, add value and improve the bank’s global markets and treasury activities by bringing an efficient and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. As a specialised Global Markets and Treasury auditor, you will play a critical role in promoting a strong risk management culture and improving the internal control environment across SMBC India Division. On rare occasions, you may be called upon to help support regional audits in other locations within Asia Pacific region.
Responsibilities
- Lead and/or execute audits independently and efficiently, including audit planning, key control evaluation and testing, report drafting and issues follow-up and closure. Perform audit activities in accordance with the Bank internal audit methodology.
- Plan and execute in-depth risk assessments and process design reviews and operating effeciveness testing to provide reasonable assurance of the Bank internal control environment relating to Global Markets and Treasury activities.
- Provide value-adding recommendations which are effective and sustainable to Management to manage emerging issues or remediate identified weaknesses.
- Apply data analytics to assess the internal control environment.
- Establish and develop good working relationship with Management of assigned Global Markets and Treasury functions for which candidate has been assigned risk assessment responsibility.
- Contribute to the annual risk assessment exercise by developing good understanding of business strategy, plans, products, processes performance, risks and issues of the assigned Global Markets and Treasury functions.
- Perform continuous monitoring on assigned Global Markets and Treasury functions to keep abreast on evolving markets, regulatory, business and operational changes to drive appropriate ongoing audit coverage.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices (e.g. RBI).
- Participate in the team’s strategic initiatives and projects as opportunities arise.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of audit experience within a bank, securities firm or an equivalent financial institution in the India region, with experience of Global Markets and Treasury front office, middle office and back office functions.
- Experience in audits of market and liqudiity stress testing preferred
- Familiar with execution of risk-based audit approach.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Good team player as well as able to work independently.
- Meticulous, disciplined and self-motivated individual with the passion to pursue excellence.
