Role Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President/VP, Enterprise Data Governance and Analytics Tooling to support the delivery of strategic data and analytics initiatives across SMBC's APAC franchise. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and data management functions to help deliver analytics solutions, reporting, dashboards, and data products that drive better business decisions.

The successful candidate will have experience in business analysis, analytics delivery, dashboard development, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a proactive individual who can translate business requirements into practical data and analytics solutions while supporting the adoption of self-service analytics and data governance practices.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics Delivery & Business Engagement

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and identify analytics opportunities.
• Support the design and delivery of dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
• Assist in translating business needs into data products and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to the development of analytics use cases and business insights.
• Promote data-driven decision-making through effective reporting and visualization.

Analytics & Reporting Development

• Support delivery across the analytics lifecycle, including requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and user adoption.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards.
• Perform data analysis to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making.
• Assist in creating reusable analytics assets and governed data products.
• Support continuous improvement of analytics solutions based on user feedback.

Self-Service Analytics & Data Products

• Support the rollout and adoption of self-service analytics capabilities.
• Develop dashboard solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and related tools.
• Ensure reporting outputs follow agreed standards and governance requirements.
• Provide user support, training, and documentation where required.
• Monitor dashboard usage and identify enhancement opportunities.

Data Governance & Platform Support

• Work with data engineering and architecture teams to consume trusted data assets.
• Support initiatives involving Databricks, Azure, Collibra, and other enterprise platforms.
• Adhere to data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with data quality monitoring, metadata management, and lineage documentation.
• Support regulatory and management reporting initiatives through trusted data sourcing.

Stakeholder & Project Support

• Coordinate activities across business and technology teams.
• Support project planning, status tracking, testing, and implementation activities.
• Prepare materials for stakeholder meetings, workshops, and governance forums.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and issues to project leads.
• Collaborate effectively across regional teams and functions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent.
• 3-6 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data management, reporting, or related disciplines.
• Experience delivering reports, dashboards, or analytics solutions within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• Strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams.
• Understanding of data governance and data management principles.
