Job Responsibilities

  • Drive Regional Trade Business Growth and Client Engagement: Manage regional trade product management activities for key trade customers, including product solution delivery and client engagement support. Support regional team in structuring ring-fenced solutions with appropriate control parameters, removing internal obstacles to achieve business objectives, deepen wallet share, and drive utilization, advisory, and cross-sell opportunities. Effectively supervise team activities and promote accountability.
  • Strengthen Stakeholder Collaboration and Operational Excellence: Work closely with stakeholders across coverage, sales, product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, accounting, and tax teams to deliver exceptional client experience, operational excellence, and product adoption. Manage business and risk effectively throughout the trade lifecycle before, during, and after trade execution. Partner with operations and sales teams to build and maintain an effective customer service model and enhance the customer journey to differentiate SMBC.
  • Ensure Robust Risk Governance and Continuous Improvement: Maintain a strong risk and credit mindset supported by robust governance. Proactively identify and manage portfolio triggers, assess risks appropriately, and strengthen risk management in business decision-making. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, uphold ethical business practices, safeguard the bank, its clients, and assets, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues. Leverage internal and external feedback to continuously review infrastructure and process gaps, collaborate with stakeholders to address issues, propose enhancements, and challenge the status quo.
  • Contribute positively to the planning and development of strategic roadmaps and functional strategies across APAC countries and businesses requiring cross-departmental coordination and integration, maximizing the value of trade finance products

     

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members, fostering professional growth, continuous engagement, and overall global departmental success.

Requirement:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in banking, financial institutions or corporates’ procurement center
  • Thorough knowledge of trade finance products, documentations and middle office trade management covering conventional trade, structured trade finance, supply chain finance product, working capital solutions, credit risk, and client buying behavior
  • Good understanding of front, credit, legal, compliance and back-office processes and how they interface with clients’ needs
  • Self-driven with positive “can-do” attitude, resilience and tenacity to overcome obstacles, good influencing and negotiation skills, able to drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Strong teamwork oriented with high level of ability to work well with all relevant stakeholders to achieve full co-operation and synergies
