Job Responsibilities:
- Key assistant to Head of Department to ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the Bank’s financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards and support of strategic financial decision-making.
- Prepare and/or review the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports.
- Facilitate financial communication on the projects and new products including accounting matters/issues.
- Work closely with other function heads (e.g., Risk, Treasury, Operations) to integrate financial insights into broader business strategies. Examine new product designs when they relate to accounting matters, ensuring alignment with financial policies and regulations.
- Review key tax calculation and compliance activities in accordance with the Revenue Department’s regulations.
- Supervise daily account operations and account closing.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews and local authorities on the matters related to accounting, taxations and compliance.
- Provide advice regarding accounting and taxations to other functions and HO/interoffice.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to enhance their skills and performance.
- Support ad hoc tasks as assigned by Department Head.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive professional experiences in auditing, accounting and taxation, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/TFRS) and corporate taxation regulations.
- Good understanding of banking products, capital markets and complex financial instruments.
- Proven experience in a managerial capacity with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high performing team.
- Exceptional command of English (both written and verbal) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is highly preferred.
