Due to continuous growth, we have a new opportunity within our Planning Department. Reporting to the Vice President, the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Analyst will support the enhancement of the branch’s business continuity and disaster recovery readiness by coordinating annual Disaster Recovery (DR) Live exercises and DR drills, maintaining Business Continuity Plan (BCP) documentation, and completing all required assessments and reporting. The role liaises with Head Office, the APAC region, and local departments to ensure full compliance with all BCM obligations. This position will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Support Business / Operations Functions on BCP readiness by write up plans and recovery strategies such as reviewing relevant policies and procedure manuals.
  • Track, escalate, and report any deficiency identified in BCP testing to the relevant stake holders and ensure action plans to close the identified gap through global / regional system DR Live Runs, DR drills, and relevant BCP assessments.
  • Assist Business / Operations functions to assess severe but plausible disruptions scenario and any revision to critical operations for BCP testing.
  • Support assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of material outsource providers/3rd party service providers risk management practices in accordance with the TPRM Policy and the SMBC Sydney Branch TPRM Addendum, including BCP and other relevant control domains.
  • Proceed initiatives to enhance operational resilience in SMBC Sydney.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and branch policies and procedures, which apply to SMBC and/or its operations.
  • Align with CPS230 and relevant regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a relevant Business Continuity Management or risk management role.
  • Basic understanding of banking environment and Australian regulatory framework.
  • Sound business communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Sophisticated finance and accounting knowledge both local and international.
  • Competent time management skills, good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • High-level accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance or relevant field.
