Assistant Vice President, Credit Portfolio Management, Risk Management Department

This role is responsible for managing credit portfolios, conducting credit stress testing, and enhancing credit risk management frameworks across the region. The role closely collaborates with various departments such as Planning, Credit Approval and Research functions to support sound risk management, business strategy, and regulatory compliance.

 

Responsibilities :

  • Perform periodic portfolio analysis and reporting by sector, product, geography, identifying key risk drivers and emerging vulnerabilities. Provide risk insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Identify emerging stress signals (e.g. financial deterioration, refinancing risk, asset valuation declines, macro or geopolitical shocks) and escalate issues with clear risk narratives and recommended actions.
  • Execute and support top‑down and bottom-up stress testing for credit portfolios, including macroeconomic, sector‑specific, and event‑driven scenarios (e.g. interest rate shocks, commodity price volatility, geopolitical tensions). Translate stress outputs into portfolio impacts on PD, credit cost, profitability, and limit headroom.
  • Enhance, implement, and manage credit Risk Appetite Framework that defines acceptable risk levels, aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Perform credit risk assessments for new products to support business strategy.
  • Planning and enhancement of credit risk management framework as a regional hub, focusing on implementing effectiveness across various APAC countries.
  • Develop dashboards and analytics to support portfolio transparency and decision‑making.
  • Strengthen portfolio governance by maintaining clear documentation, audit‑ready evidence, and control checkpoints.
  • Collaborate with the relevant unit/department such as Planning, Credit Approval, and Research, to achieve the above internal credit risk management planning and to meet regulatory requirements

 

Requirements :

  • Degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant credit risk experience in a Financial Institution
  • Strong Credit Risk Analysis with good understanding of key banking products
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and fluent in written and spoken English
  • Team player and strong sense of ownership of outcomes
  • Meticulous, with an eye for details
  • Able to work under tight timelines and comfortable with cross-border interactions
