Working in conjunction with the Group Head of Securitisation, Australia; this position will support and assist the Securitisation (SSG) business in Australia and APAC regions with structuring, analysis, execution of new transactions and projects to achieve SSG’s target. This position will support senior marketers with new deal originations, help manage external client relationships and internal stakeholder relationships with departments such credit, risk, etc. The target transactions will be unique underlying assets with proper structuring. In addition, the position will be involved in marketing activities across the APAC region such as Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore whilst contributing towards the KPIs of SSG business Australia and APAC.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Developing and maintaining commercial relationship with Securitisation clients in Australia and Asia.
- Support Relationship Managers in promoting Securitisation and structured finance related business including marketing, origination and distribution.
- Preparation of term sheets, offer letters and financing proposals; documentation due diligence reporting and reviewing loan / security documents in consultation with legal counsel.
- Analyze credit risk in underlying asset and structure of the transactions; monitor the portfolio and take necessary actions on potential deterioration on the credit.
- Research in market, laws & regulations in related business area, and provide necessary information to relevant parties.
- The role would also liaise and co-work with SMBC group members to deliver financial solutions across different platforms including mergers & acquisitions, debt capital markets, mezzanine, etc.
- Cross-sell the banks products and services including those provided through subsidiaries.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- 4 + years of prior working experience in a Structured Finance or securitization environment with a Bank or Financial Institution within an Origination Team.
- Ability to make independent judgement after thorough information gathering, processing and analysis is done.
- Strong credit analysis background.
- Good knowledge of financial products, banking practices and risk management.
- Resourcefulness, planning & organization, leadership, goal- achieving, relationship, communication, interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- University graduate majoring in banking and finance.
