D/VP - Credit Officer (CDAPD)

Responsible for independent credit risk assessment, approval, ongoing risk monitoring and portfolio management of Real Estate Finance and Project Finance in India.

 

Credit Underwriting & Transaction Review

  • Engage with business units at an early stage to discuss deal direction and structuring from a risk perspective
  • Independently review and assess credit applications across Real Estate Finance and Project Finance, including development, income-producing assets and structured financing.
  • Conduct credit analysis covering borrower / sponsor assessment, sector and business analysis, financial and cash flow, stress testing, transaction structure, and key risk mitigants. Prepare detailed executive summaries to seek approval from senior management.
  • Provide independent, commercially balanced challenges to new transactions, amendments, waivers, and restructurings in line with the bank’s credit policy and credit appetite.
  • Provide clear, well‑reasoned credit recommendations with ownership of key risk positions.
  • Support resolution and restructuring of stressed exposures, where required.
  • Contribute to development and refinement of real estate credit risk frameworks, underwriting standards, and portfolio limits.

 

Individual approval authority may be considered in the future, subject to satisfactory performance, experience, and governance requirements..

 


Portfolio Management & Credit Monitoring

  • Monitor assigned credit exposures and portfolios, including periodic reviews, covenant compliance, internal risk ratings, and early warning indicators.
  • Identify potential credit deterioration and establish timely action plans to mitigate downside risk and minimize credit costs.
  • Conduct targeted portfolio and sector reviews in response to market or borrower specific stress.
  • Track market, sector, and pricing developments and escalate key risks to senior management.

 


Governance, Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Present selected credit cases, portfolio reviews, and risk issues to senior credit management and internal committees.
  • Work closely with Relationship Management, Origination, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and other control functions to ensure sound risk governance.
  • Act as a senior credit resource within the team, providing guidance to junior staff and contributing to continuous improvement of credit processes and standards.
