Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Banking IT strategy and governance planning, project execution & delivery, and cost management, with a list of SMBC subsidiaries and affiliates, by aligning with head office’s directives.
  • Engage internal and partners’ stakeholders on business strategy and growth, business solutions from IT system solution and delivery, and the associated IT investments & ROI.
  • Apply strategic thinking to understand business needs, and tailor the associated IT system & architecture design to provide effective business operational process and IT solution.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to evaluate business strategy and align IT systems and solutions.
  • Review business growth, IT projects and operating costs, and consult with partner’s stakeholders on resources, delivery, and optimization.
  • Experience in executing large-scale & regional IT project delivery, especially in the areas of Core Banking & System Migration, Corporate/Wholesale Banking (supply chain, payments, etc.), Treasury business etc.
  • Able to advice on data and system interfaces, adhering to group data governance and risk control standards.
  • Deliver regular project updates to stakeholders and make timely incident reporting to Head Office.
  • Ensure IT projects will be delivered in full compliance with internal policies and local & banking regulations.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations with internal and partners’ stakeholder for continuous improvement.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent with 12+ years of relevant experience in the banking domain.
  • Skilled in gathering and analysing business strategy and requirements through various techniques.
  • Proficient in mapping business processes and translating requirements into specifications for Agile or waterfall delivery.
  • Strong IT project management and analytical skills for executing projects, solving issues, and evaluating ROI. 
  • Excellent communication skills for effective liaison between business units and IT teams, ensuring alignment. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards in banking, ability to manage workloads, and lead cross-functional teams across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize large workloads and deliver projects within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage or lead cross-function teams and appreciate diverse cultures to facilitate smooth communications between Head Office, Singapore office, and subsidiaries or affiliates.
  • Ability to make business trips to engage partners’ stakeholders.
  • Ability to speak Bahasa languages will be a plus as the role will work closely with SMBC subsidiary in Indonesia on IT project delivery.
