Job Description
1. Provide legal support and advise on all legal matters on banking products (both conventional and islamic), Bank’s procedures and policies.
2. Review and draft legal documents and commercial contracts for the Bank such as bilateral, syndication /club deals, Facility Letters, Loan Agreements, Service Agreements (intragroup and Vendor), Trade and IT contracts.
3. Conduct research and provide guidance and opinions on legal matters, developments and updates on legislations to internal Bank stakeholders, including Senior Management. Where necessary, to provide support to Head Office and/or Regional Office in the rolling out of group wide initiatives and the provision of legal advice on local legal position.
4. To attend Management Committee and/or Board meetings, where required, to present legal updates.
5. To conduct continuous learning training or arrange for external trainings to relevant stakeholders within the Bank in order to ensure communication of new legal development and proper negotiation of legal documentation to be entered into by the Bank.
6. To liaise with external lawyers and regulators on legal issues involving the Bank (if required).
7. To assist the Head of Legal Department.
Job Requirements
1. Professional law degree, LLB or equivalent.
2. Certificate of Legal Practice/Bar.
3. Qualified lawyer with above 10 years of experience gained from legal practice/ in house financial institution (prior working experience in financial institution would be added advantage).
4. Understanding on conventional and Islamic banking products, law relevant to banking/contract law.
5. Good communication skills and analytical.
