Leadership
• Establish and maintain a professional profile and be highly regarded within SMBC's business and with external parties.
• Support the team to achieve overall department goals.
Compliance
• Understand, interpret and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and branch policies and procedures that apply to SMBC and/or its operations.
• Apply sound knowledge of payroll and remuneration governance, controls and relevant regulatory requirements.
Functional duties
• Enhance and streamline payroll General Ledger reporting and reconciliations.
• Optimise personnel expense forecasting, budgeting and workforce planning activities.
• Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities.
• Coordinate information gathering and process mapping across APAC HR and Payroll teams.
• Support regional alignment and standardisation initiatives.
• Liaise with Australia, APAC stakeholders and third-party payroll providers.
