Reporting to the Team Head of Portfolio Management Group, Sydney; the primary responsibility of this role is to manage the ongoing credit and administrative processes of a portfolio of Project Finance transactions This includes liaising with marketing departments, liaising with internal departments to manage the administrative processes, managing loan documentation, completion of periodic portfolio monitoring, preparation of credit submissions, and preparation of reports to regional and Head Office.
In addition, the incumbent will assist the Team / Group Heads to provide guidance and leadership to a small team of credit portfolio managers as well as support the activities of the Marketing Teams as necessary.
This position will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Manage and develop direct reports, including completing performance reviews, development plans, performance management processes and providing day to day guidance to direct reports on day-to-day issues as required.
- Foster a positive working environment where all employees are highly customer focused, can deliver creative solutions and strive for excellence.
- Review the work of a small team of portfolio managers and provide training and guidance where required.
- Following the Financial Close and First Drawdown, implementing appropriate ongoing credit monitoring procedures.
- Monitoring and undertaking all relevant internal reporting requirements (Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, Annually).
- Assisting and advising Marketing Teams in relation to new transactions (in particular in Credit Grading methodology).
- Preparing annual credit review papers and other ad-hoc reviews (as required) in co-operation with the Marketing Teams to present to relevant Credit Departments.
- Preparing consent/waiver/refinance/restructure proposals/papers in co-operation with the Marketing Teams (as required) to present to relevant Credit Departments.
- Monitoring portfolio, including regular customer monitoring requirements (financial accounts, covenant compliance etc.), key indicators, media etc. with regular reporting to management.
- Assisting in asset sale processes (process and information management, documentation, settlement).
- Assist in ROE enhancement activities.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 10 years credit risk experience within Structured Finance, Corporate Banking or Credit Risk environment with a Bank or Financial Institution.
- Strong knowledge of financial products in particular Loans, Bonds, Swaps.
- Strong understanding and ability to interpret financial statements.
- Strong understanding of banking practices and processes associated with credit control and related administration.
- Strong financial analysis, credit analysis, financial modelling and portfolio/asset valuation modelling skills.
- Strong knowledge of Regulatory Capital concepts (Regulatory Balance Sheet, Risk Asset, Asset Valuation, Asset ROE).
- Strong loan asset and derivative secondary sale process experience.
- Strong influencing skills both in writing through presenting a persuasive argument and verbally when handling objections.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a focus on ability to manage multiple projects and meet agreed timeframes.
- Ability to condense complex issues into a readable format in report writing or through other communications.
- Tertiary qualification in a financial or related field.
