Job Responsibilities

  • Provide inputs and suggestions on credit related matters where applicable Review credit application in compliance with internal rules and procedures.

  • Check formalities of credit applications submitted Ensure compliance with credit related rules and procedures.

  • Conduct regular study sessions to reduce errors in work Communicate with Head Office e.g., to perform Japanese-English translation of comments from Head Office credit department and share with management and front officers, to improve their credit understanding of each credit application.

  • Enhance due date management by closely monitoring and follow up with front officers on circulation progress of each application to avoid any occurrence of overdue Check Self- Assessment documents.

  • Prepare for relevant credit related audits Contribute towards improved audit ratings.

  • Prepare for necessary reports to Management, Head Office etc Streamline credit related procedures.

 

Job Requirements

  • Graduate degree from university 

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills in English 

  • Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous as this role requires presenting and communicate to Japanese corporate clients whose main language is Japanese.  This role also needs to prepare and present reports in Japanese and read Japanese financial statements   

  • Minimum 10 years Banking & Finance experience 

  • Experience in leading and managing a small team and in credit control 

  • Ability to derive a pareto optimization between profits and resources 

  • Ability to demonstrate strategic and creative thinking in their area of business. 

  • Strong appreciation of the inherent risks that are involved in achieving goals  

  • To propagate in their team a compliance first mind set and ability to manage change 

  • Strong planning and organizational capabilities 

  • Effective time management skills 

  • Analytical mindset and ability to enable process implementation 

  • To build and nurture relationships at all levels 

  • In depth understanding of the risk environment in which the bank operates
