Job responsibilities 

This position is responsible for management level review and assessment as 2nd line of defence. The reprimaly responsibility is below.

  • Prepare and review independent assessment and recommendation on the credit quality of proposed credit facilities 

  • Assess and approve or reject individual credit applications from front offices in charge of real estate, LBO, Fund, and FI in Asia Pacific region within delegated authority

  • Present the analysis performed in credit committees and in written reports, and explain to Senior management in Tokyo to obtain approbal for applications

  • Work with front office to prepare timely and insightful annual reviews of counterparties and credit facilities, including reviewing internal ratings

  • Monitor obligor's financial, collateral performance and loan covenants of existing portfolio including periodic reporting

  • Monitor and control the Bank’s credit exposure by each borrower, sector, country and to secure its portfolio is well diversified and risk resilient. 

  • Lead and supervise Special Credit obligors (pre-non performing loan customers) and take measures for minimizing credit cost   

  • Ensure adherence to credit and other relevant internal policies and procedures.

  • Build a strong compliance and risk management culture, ensuring compliance with the Bank’s risk policies, procedures, regulatory compliance standards and required practices. 

Job Requirements 

  • Degree/Masters degree in Banking and Finance or equivalent

  • At least 15 years working experience in bankiing, prior Credit experience is a must

  • Strong financial & credit analytical skills especially for Real Estate Finance, LBO, Fund finance, FI business

  • Provide counsel to business partners including senior stakeholders and relevant business departments

  • Strong critical thinking, with the ability to understand detailed business and risk concepts, develop and defend an independent position based on a pragmatic and balanced assessment

  • Strategic and able to articulate vision and direction

  • Strong leadership and senior stakeholder management skills
