a) Origination of New Relationships
- Proactively introduce and onboard new client relationships through the existing portfolio, with a clear focus on Tier 1 clients in alignment with SMBC Private Wealth (PW) strategic priorities.
- Leverage market presence and personal networks to deepen penetration within the target segment while maintaining disciplined client selection and risk standards.
- Contribute to the diversification and growth of the PW client portfolio, with a particular focus on expanding and strengthening relationships across the North Asian market segment.
b) Leveraging the SMBC Group Network
- Actively utilize the SMBC Group's regional franchise in North Asia (particularly Taiwan and Hong Kong) to identify and convert existing Group customers into active wealth management relationships with SMBC PW.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders across corporate, commercial, and investment banking to generate referrals and maximize wallet share.
- Work closely with CBAP teams and senior management across North Asian markets to develop and deepen common client relationships, identify joint business opportunities, and drive collaboration across the SMBC Group franchise.
- Promote SMBC PW's credit capabilities and fee-based solutions to drive sustainable revenue growth and achieve targeted ROA and ROE metrics.
d) Contribution to Platform Development
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the SMBC PW platform, including process improvement, product development feedback, and best-practice sharing.
- Support initiatives that strengthen the franchise's value proposition, operational efficiency, and overall client experience.
- As the business expands, take a leadership role in building and developing a dedicated coverage team focused on North Asian clientele, including talent development, client strategy execution, and team performance management.
Requirements
- At least 12 to 15 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated strong leadership abilities with a proven track record in delivering innovative value to clients while ensuring alignment with market trends and the bank's strategic goals.
- A proactive approach to supporting colleagues and fostering teamwork within the organization, promoting a collaborative work environment.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with Mandarin-speaking customers and stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with both internal and external senior stakeholders.
- A strong customer-centric mindset combined with an active marketing attitude to successfully engage with and meet client needs.
- Strong willingness to learn about new cultures and internal bank regulations, along with the ability to adapt effectively within the team.
