The Regulatory Risk and Control Officer plays a critical role in strengthening the risk governance and compliance framework of the branch. This position supports the Unit Head and the Risk Management team in ensuring alignment with both local and regulatory expectations and group-wide risk standards. The role covers key functions such as regulatory reporting policy alignment, risk committee coordination, and operational resiliency initiatives. It is a vital support function that contributes to the bank’s overall risk posture, business continuity, and regulatory compliance.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist the Unit Head in creating a robust management framework to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares Risk Management Committee (RMC) materials and functions as RMC Secretariat providing Notices and Minutes of Meeting on a timely manner.
  • Supports the preparation, localization and alignment of Group policies on Risk Management to local regulatory guidelines as set forth by the BSP with focus on Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Recovery Plan and Operational Resiliency
  • Act as Person-in-Charge (PIC) in the creation of the branch ICAAP and Recovery Plan and Operational Resiliency
  • Assists the BCP Officer in implementation of Business Continuity Plan and coordination of Drills as alternate
  • Supports the In Office Inspections (IOI), reporting of results of inspection to General Manager and tracks the settlement of In-Office Inspection Comment Referral (IICR) if any as alternate
  • Support the Non-Financial Risk Team in various risk assessment of emerging risks such as but not limited to Technology Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Data Governance and Operational Resiliency.
  • Performs other related duties that may be assigned by the Management, Department Head and Unit Head from time to time.

 

What Sets You Apart

  • Versed in local regulatory policies and guidelines related to Risk Management.
  • Working knowledge and experience in compliance with local regulations on Technology Risk Management   
  • Experience in Operational Risk, Technology, Internal and/or external Audit gained within an international financial institution and/or professional services firm
  • Knowledge on various risk tools and methodologies
  • Well-developed knowledge of banking system and processes
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Worked in a foreign or local commercial/universal bank
  • With experience on Risk Management or Compliance
