As a Finance Officer under the Accounting and Tax Unit of the Finance Accounting Department (FAD), you will support the preparation of financial reports, accounting records, and tax-related submissions while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, accounting standards, and bank policies. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial information, supporting reporting and taxation requirements, and contributing to the achievement of the unit’s and department’s objectives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring outstanding and reconciling items are properly monitored, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Generate, review, and analyze Trial Balance, General Ledger, and other accounting reports to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Investigate accounting discrepancies between source systems and financial records and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Review transactions, balances, and accounting entries to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documents related to financial statements, Head Office reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax computations, tax returns, and supporting schedules in compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Record and process accounting entries accurately and ensure transactions are recognized in the appropriate accounting period.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports.
  • Carry out accounting procedures for Overseas Offices and International Banking Units as required.
  • Maintain accurate and organized filing systems, accounting schedules, and financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, accounting standards, and bank policies while keeping abreast of regulatory and tax updates.
  • Provide support to the Unit Head, Department Head, and Management in achieving departmental and organizational goals.

What Sets You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, financial reporting, or related fields.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Japanese GAAP (JGAAP) and banking taxation is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and accounting controls.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports, accounting schedules, and tax-related documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues.
  • Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and risk awareness.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to manage changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
