Job Description

  • Manage assigned trade finance distribution transactions from initial assessment through execution and completion, coordinating activities including information gathering, structuring support, investor coordination, internal approvals, documentation, conditions precedent and transaction closing.
  • Act as a key working-level liaison among customers, Coverage teams, Financial Institution partners, Trade Sales and relevant control and operational functions, helping to ensure effective communication, stakeholder alignment and timely transaction execution.
  • Evaluate distribution opportunities by considering client requirements, investor appetite and transaction economics, and support the development of practical execution approaches.
  • Prepare pricing, profitability ROE and portfolio analyses, identify potential commercial or execution issues, and escalate material concerns to senior team members with appropriate supporting analysis.
  • Support the execution of trade finance distribution activities, including investor targeting, market-sounding exercises, portfolio reporting, credit-capacity utilization and coordination of distribution-related documentation such as NDAs and MRPAs.
  • Contribute to origination and structuring discussions by providing input on investor appetite, market conditions, pricing expectations, documentation requirements and execution considerations.
  • Maintain and monitor an assigned pipeline of opportunities, track key milestones, identify potential bottlenecks and risks, and provide regular status updates to management.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Financial Institution partners, Coverage teams and internal product stakeholders to facilitate transaction execution and business collaboration.
  • Support initiatives to enhance distribution processes, portfolio transparency, management information, documentation standards and cross-regional coordination.
  • Knowledge sharing to colleagues on transaction processes, documentation standards and stakeholder coordination.
  • Support the management of FI trade gateways under GTFD Singapore for APAC coverage and contribute to regional coordination relating to distribution opportunities and portfolio priorities.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, compliance requirements and delegated authorities, and promptly escalate material credit, legal, operational, conduct or reputational concerns.
  • Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification.
    • Approximately 5-8 years of relevant experience in trade finance, transaction banking, financial institutions, risk distribution or related areas within a financial institution.
    • Good understanding of trade finance products and structures, including funded and unfunded trade assets, guarantees, risk participations, receivables finance and supply chain finance.
    • Experience supporting or executing transactions involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
    • Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of transaction economics, pricing considerations and risk-return principles.
    • Familiarity with Financial Institution distribution activities, investor requirements and market practices in trade finance or related asset classes would be advantageous.
    • Good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across business, control and operational functions.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and execution-focused mindset.
    • Experience preparing transaction analyses, business presentations and management reporting materials.
    • Sound understanding of governance, compliance and operational risk requirements applicable to transaction banking activities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Fluency in English required. Additional Chinese or Japanese language capabilities would be beneficial.
