The Data Management Office (DMO) is the central coordinating body for data-related activities across various departments, overseeing the Data Governance function and Data Analytics function to maintain a unified approach to enterprise data management and data governance.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled professional with practical experience in Data Governance & Data Analytics Operationalization.

Role Overview

The Data Management Office is seeking a "VP - Data Initiatives - Planning & Delivery Manager" to support strategic data initiatives across the India Division. The role will focus on Data Governance (DG), Data Analytics (DA) operationalization, Head Office and local regulatory data compliance initiatives, regulatory reporting automation, and the development of scalable offshore data management capabilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Finance and Compliance to translate requirements into implementation plans, manage key workstreams, and coordinate delivery, remediation and escalation activities for a country in APAC. 

Key Responsibilities

• Drive DG Operationalization across domains.
• Support various Head Office & local regulatory data compliance initiatives (data governance, data analytics, reporting automation)
• Engagement with key stakeholders across Risk, Finance & Compliance
• Manage KDE, metadata, and controls workstreams.
• Develop DG ownership and governance artefacts.
• Support in RBI data, regulatory reporting regulations (guidelines) interpretation & operationalization in reference to Data Governance/ Data Management requirements.
• Translate Head Office and regulatory data compliance requirements into implementation plans.
• Support regulatory reporting automation initiatives.
• Coordinate remediation tracking and closure activities.
• Manage risks, issues and escalation process.

Support Building Data Management Office Offshore Capabilities

• Establish data governance, data analytics, reporting automation services, SLAs and delivery standards.
• Develop governance artefacts, RACI and operating procedures.
• Build a scalable Data Governance/Data Analytics delivery capability within Global Capabilities Centre.
• Manage knowledge transfer, documentation and process standardization.

Qualifications (Skills & Exposure)

• 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management disciplines within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, regulatory data compliance, and banking regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience managing KDE, metadata, data controls, governance artefacts, remediation and regulatory initiatives.
• Ability to translate Head Office regulatory and data related business requirements into structured implementation plans.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across Risk, Finance, and Compliance.
• Experience supporting and building offshore delivery or shared-services capability development is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Collibra, Alteryx, or comparable data governance and reporting automation tools is advantageous.

Education

• Bachelor’s / Masters/ University degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Data Management, or related discipline.
• Professional certification in Data Governance, FRM/ Risk Management, is a plus.
