The successful applicant will join the Singapore based team which is focussed on developing SMBC’s investor sales franchise across Asia ex Japan. The team is thriving on closer collaboration and a wide product suite in several asset classes (Interest Rates, FX and FI). This role will help that growth, building new relationships and increasing revenues and connectivity with existing clients. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with traders to market flow FX and rates products and perform client servicing duties to sophisticated institutional Investor Sales clients in Asia Ex-Japan including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and asset managers.
  • Help identify new opportunities for target client list and expand flow business with existing client to meet revenue targets, maintaining strong relationship with clients in order to detect trade opportunities and solutions
  • Service and grow flow market share of electronic trading platforms including but not limited to FXConnect, FXGo and FXT
  • Monitor and send market updates including trade ideas based on market movements, working in collaboration with traders, economists and strategists
  • Interact and cooperate closely with various internal teams on client management issues, including risk, relationship management, legal, settlement and operation
  • Keep abreast of regulations and have strong risk control practice to ensure compliance with limits and regulations

Job Requirements

  • Good bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, commerce or engineering.
  • Min. 7 years’ experience in EM Macro/Interest Rate/Fixed Income/FX/FX option or Commodity Derivatives (sales / structuring) with experience covering institutional clients.
  • A proven track record of establishing real lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to run client presentations and influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Disciplined approach to fulfill and exceed both client expectations and internal KPIs
  • Familiarity with Electronic Platforms and a good understanding of their increasing importance in markets’ business.
