Job Responsibilities
- To contribute to the department strategy through product development (including digital solution).
- To review and simplify (in consultation with Legal Dept) existing Trade products terms and legal agreements in the APAC region according to market standards.
- To manage customer specific amendment(s) in the legal agreements (in consultation with the Legal Dept).
- To act as product specialist for Trade finance products and provide deal support (i.e., product selection, structuring, RFP response, marketing material preparation, legal, compliance, operational, accounting and tax matters) to Relationship Managers and Marketing Officers.
- Maintenance of Trade pitchbook, standard legal agreements and procedure manual.
- To execute the global strategy of the department to lead, promote and develop the bank’s Trade Finance business by combining solutions from Transaction Banking, digitalization, supply chain finance, structured trade and commodity finance in conjunction with branches/offices in the region.
- To maintain the highest level of compliance and to meet the regulatory requirements in various countries of GTFD’s operation and to implement necessary safeguards / processes to manage risks arising from the bank’s Trade finance business,.
- To conduct study session on Trade products and legal agreements to Relationship Managers, Operations and other internal stakeholders.
- To identify and explore, and keep abreast of, the market development in the Trade Finance field, and contribute to bring in new products to be more competitive and value add in the market.
- To guide and develop the department staff for further expansion and development of the Trade Finance platform in the region.
- Work with Third Party Multi-Banking Platform provider(s) to explore and develop the collaboration to deliver the integrated solutions within project timeline to match client expectations.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders request and prioritize requirements based on business needs.
Job Requirements
- Experience on establishment and enhancement of product development and familiar with legal agreements / documentation and business planning relating to Trade finance.
- Possesses good functional experience in both Traditional and Open Account Trade Finance products and good aware of risks accompanying such products.
- Ability to oversee and manage product roadmap by aligning with business goals.
- Experience in preparation of new product requirement documents and the corresponding legal agreements (in consultation with Legal Dept and other relevant stakeholders).
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience or in a similar role is preferred.
- Act as a bridge between the Technology Teams and Business Teams to gather and analyze functional / non-functional requirements and contribute on the solutioning including re-engineering of existing processes.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, issue, conduct and compliance matters.
- Manage timeline, priority and delivery of new products.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders across multicultural and cross-country teams.
- Strong customer centric mindset.
- Strong innovative mindset to bring in new products and new value / edge / capability to the bank.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio Access, Data Analysis Tools and other leading Digital Tools.
- Familiarity with legal agreements relating to Trade products is an added advantage.
