SMBC is seeking an experienced and strategic Regional Cash Sales Manager to drive growth in our Cash Management business for Korea Headquartered businesses across APAC. This role can be based in Singapore or Korea and is responsible for the origination, development, and execution of transaction banking solutions for Korea inbound & outbound clients. Role will lead our Korea transaction banking strategy in the region and work closely with teams in other APAC markets to build a scalable and collaborative franchise.

This is a high-impact, revenue-generating role requiring deep client relationships, strong knowledge of cash management solutions, and the ability to drive complex sales processes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders globally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Originate and drive new business for Korean corporates across the broader APAC region.
  • Lead the Korea Corporate segment strategy within Payments, sharing best practices and aligning business development efforts across countries and teams.
  • Sell the full suite of cash management products, including core payments, liquidity management, foreign exchange solutions, and information management tools.
  • Develop strategic account plans and execution strategies for priority clients, ensuring alignment with Transaction Banking objectives.
  • Build and manage long-term client relationships by understanding their treasury priorities and delivering tailored solutions that meet evolving needs.
  • Work in partnership internal stakeholders across SMBC (including cash product management, relationship managers, operations, other product partners, etc) to provide quality and tailored transaction banking solutions to clients.
  • End-to-end ownership of clients from origination, advisory, solutioning, implementation to ad-hoc after-sales client enquiries/issues. Leverage on SMBC’s global network, flow banking capabilities and digital initiatives to drive inbound/outbound transaction banking opportunities in APAC.
  • Drive thought leadership and regional collaboration, actively participating in product development discussions and promoting innovation across the APAC franchise.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Strong product knowledge of cash management solutions across different markets in Asia, including but not limited to payables, receivables, electronic banking and liquidity management.
  • >8 years’ experience in providing cash management solutions, with a period focused on coverage of Korean Corporates
  • Ability to interact with customer across all levels – working level to senior management.
  • Strong sales discipline including preparation of proposals, presentation materials of high quality.
  • Demonstrate effective cross-sell mindset and experience.
  • Regional experience & knowledge and a network across key APAC markets is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English & Korean (both verbal and written) is required. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
