Vice President, APAC Data Governance Platform & Data Quality

Role Summary

The APAC Data Governance Platform & Data Quality Lead is responsible for leading the implementation, adoption and operationalisation of Data Governance platform capabilities across the APAC region.

The role will establish platform operating models, governance workflows, metadata management, lineage governance and Data Quality capabilities. Working closely with business, technology and Data Management teams, the individual will ensure governance processes are embedded into day-to-day operations and supported by scalable platform capabilities.

This is a regional leadership role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, programme delivery and platform expertise, with responsibility for managing onshore, offshore and consulting teams.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance Platform Leadership

• Lead implementation and adoption of the Collibra platform across APAC entities.
• Define and maintain governance platform standards, operating models and best practices.
• Establish governance workflows, stewardship processes and approval mechanisms.
• Drive onboarding of countries, business domains and governance use cases onto the platform.
• Support the implementation of regional Data Governance strategy and roadmap.

Metadata & Data Lineage Management

• Lead the establishment of business metadata, technical metadata and governance inventories.
• Drive implementation of lineage governance capabilities across critical business processes.
• Ensure ownership, lineage and governance artefacts are maintained and governed appropriately.
• Support regulatory and audit requirements relating to data transparency and traceability.

Data Quality Governance

• Establish Data Quality governance frameworks, processes and operating models.
• Lead Data Quality issue management, escalation and tracking activities.
• Define and implement Data Quality scorecards, reporting and management dashboards.
• Drive adoption of Data Quality governance practices across APAC entities.
• Work with business and technology teams to improve Data Quality controls and outcomes.

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Establish and manage regional delivery roadmaps, milestones, risks and dependencies.
• Lead geographically distributed teams comprising onshore, offshore and consulting resources.
• Drive execution across multiple markets while maintaining regional consistency.
• Provide regular progress updates and recommendations to senior management.

Executive Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Promote adoption of governance platform capabilities across APAC.
• Develop executive presentations, steering committee materials and management reporting.
• Represent the Data Management Office in governance and transformation forums.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• 12+ years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality or Data Management disciplines.
• Proven experience implementing and operationalising Collibra within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of metadata management, business glossary and lineage concepts.
• Experience supporting BCBS239 and Data Governance transformation initiatives.
• Experience implementing Data Quality governance frameworks and issue management processes.
• Experience developing Data Quality scorecards and governance reporting.
• Strong programme and project management capabilities.
• Experience managing regional initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience managing permanent staff, offshore resources and consulting partners.

Preferred

• Experience across APAC banking markets.
• Experience supporting Risk, Finance or Regulatory Reporting functions.
• Experience with Collibra Data Quality capabilities.
• Experience implementing governance operating models at scale.
• Collibra certification(s).
