Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the Dual Hat framework, policies, procedures, and governance documents.
  • Support APAC Dual Hat governance and oversight meetings, including agendas, minutes, action tracking, and reporting.
  • Provide business-as-usual support for Dual Hat arrangements across APAC, including coordinating New Products approval process.
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory review requests relating to Bank-Securities collaboration.
  • Coordinate with Tokyo Head Office, SMBC Nikko, APAC offices, Front Office, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare management reports, presentations, briefing materials, and updates for senior management.
  • Support strategic initiatives, business planning, risk management frameworks, and cross-entity collaboration projects. 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Banking industry.
  • Good understanding of Bank-Securities collaboration models, market practices, and business flows across corporate banking, investment banking, capital markets, and securities activities.
  • Ability to identify and manage key risks arising from Bank-Securities collaboration, including conflicts of interest, information barriers, customer suitability, entity role clarity, and governance over new products or cross-entity initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments and manage conflicting interests.
  • Demonstrated initiative, especially in cross-functional or multi-departmental settings.
  • A collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach, supporting senior staff across various functions.
  • Ability to analyze complex business environments and propose strategic initiatives that align with long-term organizational goals.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional projects, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and communicate across different cultural and organizational contexts.
