Job Responsibilities

  • Support the formulation and execution of CMA and ASDV business strategies, annual business plans, and priority initiatives, ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.
  • Drive core business planning and management processes, including budgeting, workforce planning, performance monitoring, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Develop high-quality management presentations, business performance analyses, and executive-level reports that provide clear insights and support informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate with Head Office, regional offices, and relevant business and support functions to deliver strategic, governance, regulatory, and organizational initiatives.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of organizational and change implementation, cross-entity collaboration and operating arrangements, including working with dual-hatting frameworks, in collaboration with SMBC Nikko and other relevant stakeholders.
  • As a member of the ASDV COO Office, contribute to enhancing business management, governance, and operational effectiveness across the organization.
  • Identify, develop, and implement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, streamline business processes, and strengthen management information and reporting frameworks.
  • Coordinate audit, regulatory, risk, and control-related initiatives, promoting timely delivery, clear accountability, and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead or contribute to ad hoc projects that support business growth, organizational transformation, and the continued evolution of the operating model.

Job Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in banking, capital markets, corporate finance, business planning, strategy, product development and/or a related function.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets products, business models, and operational processes; experience in syndicated finance, structured finance, securitization and/or other financing businesses would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to support business planning and strategic initiatives and to manage stakeholders effectively across multiple functions, legal entities, and jurisdictions.
  • Good understanding of Bank-Securities collaboration models, market practices, and business flows across corporate banking, investment banking, capital markets, and securities activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience in business performance analysis, management reporting, and the preparation of executive-level presentations.
  • Experience supporting governance, regulatory, audit, risk management, or control-related activities would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with Head Office, regional offices, and internal stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of Bank-Securities collaboration models, market practices, and business flows across corporate banking, investment banking, capital markets, and securities activities.
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese is essential for effective communication and coordination with Head Office, including the preparation of reports and management materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and communicate across different cultural and organizational contexts.
  • Knowledge of Japanese banking laws and the broader regulatory environment would be advantageous.
