JOB SUMMARY
- Lead the formulation and execution of SMBC Malaysia's business strategy and key corporate initiatives, working closely with Management, Head Office / Regional Head Office, business units, and support functions to drive sustainable business growth and strengthen the Bank's competitive position.
- Serve as the Policy Owner of the New Product Process framework, ensuring effective product governance, supporting the development and implementation of new products and services, and strengthening business promotion and sales support capabilities across the Bank.
- Act as a strategic partner to Management by coordinating bank-wide projects, collaborating with relevant stakeholders including the Management Accounting team, and providing business insights, performance analysis, and management reporting to support strategic decision-making and long-term value creation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Policy Owner for the New Product Process Policy & Procedures, including periodic review and enhancement of the framework, governance oversight, stakeholder guidance, and support for the successful implementation of new products and initiatives.
- Drive product development initiatives and governance processes by collaborating with various 1st to 3rd line stakeholders including Head Office / Regional Head Office to facilitate business growth and ensure effective product oversight.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Bank's business strategy and business plans, including strategic analyses, market research, and business performance reviews.
- Support business promotion and sales initiatives through business planning, opportunity analysis, performance monitoring, and coordination with relevant stakeholders to enhance the Bank's product and service offerings.
- Collaborate closely with Management Accounting and relevant stakeholders on budgeting, financial performance monitoring, management reporting, and business planning activities to support management decision-making.
- Lead and coordinate strategic, regulatory, and Bank-wide projects, ensuring effective stakeholder management, timely execution, and achievement of project objectives.
- Prepare reports, analyses, presentations, and meeting materials for Management, Management Committees, Head Office / Regional Head Office, and other stakeholders, providing insights on business performance and strategic initiatives.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Academic Qualification (Degree / Diploma etc.) / Professional Qualification / Certification
- Degree holder in any related fields.
Working Experience (Years / Type)
- Over 5 years’ experience in financial institutions, preferably within the banking industry.
- Experience in strategic planning, business management, product development, project management, or related functions is preferred.
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional projects and working with multiple stakeholders across front, middle, and back-office functions is preferred.

- Good understanding of banking products, regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, and business management processes.
- Advance knowledge in MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Fluent in business-level English is required; Japanese proficiency is an advantage.
