JOB SUMMARY

Provide support to the AML Team Lead and the Anti-Money Laundering Officer (“AMLO”) in managing Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing and Proliferation Financing (“ML/TF/PF”) and Sanctions risks, formulate effective internal control system to comply with all the applicable rules and regulations for SMBC Malaysia and SMBC Labuan.

 

The key expectation is to:

  1. Provides support to the AML Team Lead in managing the overall AML/CFT/CPF and Sanctions operations which are inclusive of KYC review, transaction monitoring and sanctions review, annual review of transaction monitoring parameter, submission of regulatory and internal reports, ensure accuracy and timelines in the response to Law Enforcement Agencies.
  2. Provides advisory on KYC and sanctions related requirements.
  3. Approve the closure of Know-Your Customer (“KYC”) in the eKYC system, Transaction Monitoring (“TM”) alerts generated by the Transaction Monitoring System and implementation of List Management rules for SMBCMY.
  4. In-charge of AML related projects which inclusive of completing all the Third-Party Management assessments.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist the implementation of compliance with all applicable laws & regulations (inclusive of FATCA and CRS) and any other obligations imposed by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) via comprehensive gap analysis and close communications with all the relevant stakeholders.
  2. Managing ML/TF/PF and Sanctions Risks.
  3. In-charge of the establishment or review of AML/CFT/CPF and Sanctions related policies & procedures.
  4. In-charge of maintaining the local watchlists.
  5. Provides support in closing (approving) the KYC, transaction monitoring and Actimize alerts, provides support to oversee the daily functions to ensure timely clearance by the AML Team on KYC review, transactions monitoring alerts and sanction review.
  6. Perform annual risk assessment of AML/CFT/CPF and Sanctions to address any change in ML/TF/PF and Sanctions trends.
  7. In-charge of annual review of transaction monitoring parameters.
  8. In-charge of AML related projects such as system modifications or implementation and oversee the execution of User Acceptance Test (UAT).
  9. Provides advisory on KYC and Sanctions related matters to the stakeholders.
  10. Timely escalate and report any issues or observations in the day-to-day operations where attention from the AML Team Lead and AMLO is required.
  11. Assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting requirements.
  12. Ensure accuracy and timeliness on submission of all regulatory reports to the regulatory authorities and also timely reply to the Law Enforcement Agencies on the orders received.
  13. Prompt reporting of quality suspicious transaction report to the Financial Intelligence and Enforcement Department, Bank Negara Malaysia and to Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Unit of Labuan FSA, whenever applicable, with the prior consultation made with the AMLO or the AML Team Lead during the absence of AMLO.
  14. Ensure confidentiality of the information received during the course of performing the duties.
  15. Preparation of accurate AML related reports to Board Risk Management Committee and Risk Management Committee.
  16. Communicate with the Law Enforcement Agencies and regulators as and when required.
  17. Attend to external and internal audit/inspection, by managing and tracking open issues and corrective actions plans till completion.
  18. Establish training materials and provide AML/CFT/CPF related training as and when required.
  19. In-charge of AML/CFT/CPF related projects.
  20. To take up additional assignments from the AMLO or AML Team Lead as and when required.
  21. To support in implementation of Fraud governance framework and handle fraud related matters.
  22. Provide support to the team members whenever required.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Any relevant Degree.
  2. Experience of 5-7 years. Preferably in the banking industry.
  3. Well verse with Transaction Monitoring Parameter Setting, BNM AML Guidelines, KYC Review, Transaction Monitoring, management of sanctions and skillful in AML Governance process.
  4. A must to have experience in Transaction Monitoring Parameter Settings.
