Reporting to the Group Head of Securitisation, Australia; the primary responsibility of this role is to support and assist the Securitisation (SSG) business in Australia and APAC regions with structuring, analysis and execution of new transactions.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Assist with the management of the Securitisation client’s portfolio to achieve successful financial outcomes which support the SSG budget.
- Delivering and overseeing detailed credit analysis and financial analysis of corporates and potential deals.
- Working with financial models and modelling cash flows and financial information to undertake financial analysis.
- Oversee and assist in the preparation of credit papers to seek credit approval for transactions from SMBC Credit Department.
- Conduct periodic/interim reviews over existing corporate banking customer accounts.
- Participate with documentation negotiation in conjunction with the relationship managers. Ensure that documentation is in line with credit approvals and SMBC standards.
- There will also be administrative functions related to the maintenance of client accounts over a variety of SMBC banking products.
- Participating as a member of the Securitisation Australia team in servicing the clients’ day-to-day requirements over existing products.
- Supporting senior managers with the origination of transactions and assisting with completing relevant client meeting reports and presentation materials, including engagement with the clients.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a Relationship Manager, ideally within a Bank or Financial Institution in a Structured Finance or Securitisation team.
- Awareness and reasonable understanding of Institutional Banking financial products and services.
- High level ability to understand and interpret financial statements and conduct financial modelling.
- Advanced understanding of credit processes within a bank and related administration.
- Strong level of numeracy and financial analysis skills.
- Influencing skills both in writing through presenting a persuasive argument and verbally.
- Ability to condense complex issues into a readable format in report writing or through other communications.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Tertiary qualifications in a business relevant field.
